GENEROUS 2011 SPONSORS
Much of what we are able to do as an Association is possible because of those who help sponsor special events.  Our ability to help fellow alumni, support our former home and hold reunions would not be possible without the generous contributions of these companies and individuals.  Please express your gratitude and support

 GATHERING

Saturday - March 17th, 2012

Hollywood Casino
Tunica, MS

The next Alumni Gathering will be held at the Hollywood Casino in Tunica, MS (just south of Memphis, Tenn.).  Ronnie & Sandra Crouch are our hosts for this unique event.  Several alumni have been gathering here for the past several years and they've invited all alumni to make this an official CFBRAA gathering.
We can get special rates at the Casino but we need to make our reservations with JoAnn Hicks (662-613-0675) and let her know we are with the Ronnie Crouch, Boys Ranch Alumni gathering.  Rates will be players rates, the more play the less cost for the room.  They've blocked rooms for us on Friday, March 16th through Sunday the 18th, checking out on Monday if you wish.
They've also arranged for discounted tickets to various events like Grace Land, River Boat Cruises, Museum, etc.  Be sure to contact Bobby (cfbraa@sarpserv.com) and let him add you to the reservations list.

2012 Dallas Gathering Pictures

Charles Mason drove down from OK to take pictures of the Dallas Gathering.  Check out the photos under "Galleries - 2012" above.  That you Charles for the memories.

Board Meeting Notes

The CFBRAA Board of Directors met at th Dallas Gathering on February 4th for a regularly scheduled Board Meeting.  All Standing Committee members were invited to participate in the meeting.  Under committee reports, the Annual Reunion Committee has requested feedback on whether or not to have a DJ/Band and dance at the Annual Reunion.  They were also interested in what entree's people might want.  The survey was taken at the Dallas Gathering.  If you would like to make a suggestion, email Bobby at cfbraa@sarpserv.com.

A special committee was appointed to look into how the Association might recognize distinguished staff members.  David Rodgers was named chairman of that committee.  Others appointed to the committee are:  Jimmie Boatwright, Lee Boroughs, Ron Hancock, Chuck Farrell and Tim Darnell.

Billy Dawson

Heard from Billy that he graduated with a Masters Degree in Real Estate from UTA. "This proves that if I can do it anyone can do it."  Congratulations Billy.

2012 Annual Reunion Committee:

Under the leadership of Daniel Scroggs, the Annual Reunion Committee is already working on events for next year.  If you have suggesions or would like to help, contact Daniel at danielscroggs@att.net.  One additional event being planned for 2012 is a dance.

Class Reunions:

If you would like to have a class reunion for your Graduating Class at the 2012 Annual Reunion, contact Bobby Sarpalius to initiate plans for the celebration (cfbraa@sarpserv.com).  The Class of '67 will be celebrating their 45th reunion.  The following may want to plan a celebration:

   50th class of '62     40th class of '72

Dallas Gathering Recap

Over 130 alumni, family and friends gathered at Eddie Deen's on Feb 4th for the 8th annual Dallas Gathering, including about 20 "first-timers."  Angelo McClain came the longest distance (Boston, MA), though Debbie Rodgers was a close second, flying in from DC to attend the event.  Michell Cermac from the DFW Family Resource Center spoke of the work Cal Farley's is doing in the area and Jesse & Sandy Pape spoke of their mission to speak to Church groups about Cal Farley's.  A special thanks needs to be offered to Cam Lindsey, Sherry Finstad, Beverly Hall and Cindy Sarpalius for the work they did to make this possible, and to Charles Mason for taking pictures (see pics in the Galleries tab above).  Click here to see some comments offered by attendees.

“IT’S WHERE WE’RE GOING THAT COUNTS!”

FOUNDING LEGACY PARTNERS

TOPS $140,000
What is the future of Cal Farley's Alumni Assn.? What will WE accomplish?  What will WE leave behind?  What will be OUR LEGACY?

For every one of us who went to BR or GT, there were 15 or 20 who applied but could not get in. Where are they now?  God knows.  And but for the grace of God and the generosity of others we would probable not be where we are today.  Many of us benefited from the legacy left by others.

Now it's Our Turn to Leave a Legacy!

Boys Ranch was built on the small and consistent gifts of people across the country.  There have been many large gifts and these have been valuable.  But the small and regular gifts have been the food and electric bills for decades.

The Association Legacy Partners Program provides opportunity and encouragement for many of us to be regular consistent supporters of some very important work.  The Scholarships, the Crisis Support, the Reunions and the Support of alumni through Cal Farley's requires regular, consistant support by many partners.

The Founding Legacy Partners are those who contribute at least $1,000 to the Legacy Partners by June 30th, 2015.  All who participate as regular contributors to the work of CFBRAA are Legacy Partners and will be recognized and encouraged at the various levels noted on the All Star Levels tab of this web site.
